Do you work with Seniors?

Yesterday I attended another Senior Roundtable meeting, and came away feeling so fortunate to have this resource available. And happy that fellow Active Rainer Skip Frenzel introduced me to this group.

On a monthly basis professionals who work with Seniors in some capacity or other meet to network, share information and learn from a featured speaker and each other. I've met professional organizers, lawyers specializing in Seniors issues, accountants, representatives from mobility companies, a designer of clothing created for disabled or elderly persons -- a wealth of services that can be of benefit to my Senior clients.

I'm developing a great list of service providers to help my clients when they don't know where to look for solutions to a problem.

If you have a similar group in your area, check it out. You'll be glad you did.

Lottie,

I'm so glad you wrote this post, I think everyone in the Bay Area working with seniors should be aware of this fantastic networking and educational resource.  I have recruited most of my team members from this organization, and it's proven over and over again that it is the best single source of finding help with whatever your Senior concern might be.  I wish there was an orginazation like this in every part of the country.  Hopefully, some enterprising Realtor from other parts of the country will start a chapter.

Just to give you alittle more insight on them, the website is: http://seniorroundtable.com.

There are several chapters based on geographic location: Santa Clara, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Central/East Contra Costa, West Alameda, and South County.  Each meets a different day and has a different aganda.  They are all free, open to anyone who wants to attend, and well attended 40-80 people.  Our chapter (Santa Clara) puts on an Adult Resource Fair yearly in Jan.  There is an activities calander for the whole group that you can post your event, an employment section, and because they hold these at a different senior community each month, there is the opportunity to tour that community and get an idea of what is in the area.

SRT is a MUST event for me every month, and I'd really like to get the word out to everyone about it.  Thanks, Lottie for bringing it up.

For additional enrichment of your senior knowledge, please attend my monthly seminars in San Jose as posted on my website (linked on my name on Lottie's blog).  I will also be presenting my seminar on how to work the senior market (The Alchemy of the Senior Market: Turning Lead into Gold") for both RE boards, SCCAOR & SILVAR later in the year.

Oh, don't forget the CAR Expo in San Jose Oct 6-8.
