Staging Still Highly Recommended

Home Stager with Spruce It Up! Oregon's Real Estate Stager

Received an update from the FSBO Blog...yet another article on the importance of staging and the basics.  While the info is very basic, this might be a good link to share with listing clients or anyone even considering selling a home.  http://fsbo.fizber.com/2009/09/30/the-home-staging-cheat-sheet/ . This wouldn't be enough, generally speaking, to help a seller stage a home but it might be enough to prompt a professional consultation.  A comprehensive consultation with a written report (i.e. plan and "honey-do list") is a very effective way to stage a home that has a minimal cost. Sellers need to be motivated tho, to do the work.

the article is not bad, but not all inclusive neither.  It should prompt a professional visit as you mentioned... hopefully the professional stager will also refer the business to a real estate professional as well, or vise versa..

Staging is so very important..

thanks for the post..

A great stager is worth their weight in gold! Proper staging can sell a house faster than an empty hoouse every time!

I wish more Realtors could understand the importance of a Stager like both Darren and Betina do.

Home Harmony (Montreal Home Stagers) has stats to prove it. A declutter, re-design or total staged home moves much faster ... as quickly as 1day in our recent history!

Thanks For Sharing the link.

UPSTAGING YOUR HOMES - Sechelt, BC

The realtors who understand the value of staging benefit as well as their clients.  If I were a realtor, I would much prefer to take my clients thru a staged house than a messy, unclean, needs painting and de-cluttering house.

The two excuses I have received from realtors in my area recently, "my clients have no time for a 1 hour consultation"; and "my clients are taking a loss on the sale of their homes, they can't afford staging".

Clearly common sense does not prevail with realtors who make comments like these.

Surely the homeowner in this instance would rather spend 1 hour at no cost to her (realtor was going to pay for consultation), get tips on how the house could be presented more effectively, than continue to sit on the market since listing in July and have to have taken 2 price reductions.   STAGING COST LESS THAN THE FIRST PRICE REDUCTION.

Staging is effective in any economy; however in a poorer economy, it is that much more important for a house to stand out from the competition.  Staging ensures that happens.  Over and over again the statistics prove that staged homes sell faster and most often for higher selling price.
