Almost Time for Christmas Decorations

By
Real Estate Agent

It's November and that means time to start thinking about the holidays.  First, there's Thanksgiving .... turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, and so many desserts.  Then of course comes Christmas with the lovely lights on the houses, Christmas trees to decorate, presents to buy.  Do you believe it?  It's almost time for Christmas decorations!

I, for one, have always wanted to put lots and lots of lights decorating the outside of my home.  Some years, I have managed some but never as many as I would like.  One of these years, I will and then I'll post my wonderful pictures.  Until then, I may go with the idea of the picture below:

Ditto!

That's me!  Big plans but not always the time to accomplish it all.   I can so relate to the homeowners above.  Have a great day everyone!

Irene, I love this time of year. Thanks for a post that reminds me to untangle my lights, and get the boxes from the shelf- for some reason, I never mind the little annoyances that come with getting ready for holiday lights! You'll have to provide an update/photo when you're finished putting your own lights up...

Irene, you are making my November go so quick when you post things like this.  That picture is so cute.  The "ditto" lights on the neighbor's garage are a hoot!!!!!

Laurie - I will post some pictures if I manage to get the lights up.

Jess - Of course desserts are the most important part of any holiday! :-)

Sharon - I just may end up doing the "ditto" thing myself.  :-)

Thanks everyone for stopping by and commenting.

The lights put me in the right mood. I can do without the snow.

Oh, always so much to get taken out and put up. This does look like a good alternative though :)

Oh, I can't wait to see the Holiday Lights up this year.  Although time is flying by and I can't believe that time is just around the corner!

Robert - Having lived in Texas most of my life and not experiencing snow, I now enjoy snow.  One of these days I may tire of it but I'm not there yet.

Marney - Christmas lights do brighten things don't they?

Diane - Um.....actually, I do shop early.  I think it's because I get so excited and can't wait to wrap the presents.

Lee and Carol - It does take a lot of time.   That's the main reason I have never quite accomplished putting out as many lights as I'd liked to.

Carol - I can't either.  I love the holidays but I can't believe that it'll be 2010 before long.

LOL oh not at our home Irene...The first year we moved to valpo i found jeff on the ground ( fallen off a ladder) so NO more outside home decorations needless to say :)

The girls do the inside when they come home for thanksgiving - I'm fine with a ditto or better yet, just enjoying others nicely decorated homes in the neighborhood:)

Great pic !

Sincerely,

Grace

Grace - Oh my!  Very scary.  I think that would be the end of lights on the outside of my home also.

Irene, gee.  I'm lucky to get the tree up and decorated!  I usually do it early in the season and leave it up until March.  It's pretty dry by then!

Irene - I knew it was bound to happen - that the pictures of the holidays would soon be coming in to celebrate this glorious time of year.  My goodness, the departments stores starting putting things up at the beginning of October.  There was a clash of the titans, with Christmas and Halloween decorations being sold side by side:-)

Oh my goodness Irene that was or is a hoot! Love it!  Ya, know would love to do the "ditto" lights on our place, if our neighbours decorate like that, just for the fun of it!  Thanks am still laughing! BTW was the very lite up house Chevy Chase's?

Patricia - I'm sure you are not alone in leaving a Christmas tree up well after Christmas.  The last couple of years that hasn't been a problem for me since I haven't even gotten the tree up to start with.  :-)

Myrl - Somehow Halloween and Christmas decor just don't go together at all.  The Christmas marketing seems to start earlier and earlier each year.

Leilani - I thought it was pretty funny and inventive, also.

Peggy - I laughed for quite a while when I first saw this picture.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and commenting.  Have a great weekend.

We put up lights each year, but not enough to substantially raise our electricity bill. We like to drive around and look at everyone else's lights.

We have a favorite list of homes that decorate to the hilt & we go drive by to admire them on Christmas Eve each year - but I love the creativity of the "Ditto" house in your photo!  Too funny!
