By
Real Estate Broker Owner with Erica Ramus - Ramus Realty Group - Pottsville, PA RM420589

The Friedensburg Country Restaurant will sponsor a free Thanksgiving dinner this year on Thursday, November 26 from 12 noon to 1 pm. The meal is for anyone who does not have somewhere to go on Thanksgiving, and also for those in financial need. There are no age restrictions.

The restaurant's owner, Christopher Clauser, says they will serve a full Thanksgiving meal served buffet-style including dessert and beverage.

The meal will be served between noon an 1 p.m. Reservations are not required, but Clauser asks if you plan on attending, please call withh an approximate number of those planning to attend so they can better prepare.

Anyone who would like to volunteer to help prepare or serve the meal is asked to contact the restaurant.

Right next to the Friedensburg Country Restaurant you'll find C&C Candies and Country Store, which is also owned by the Clauser family. Homemade chocolates and other candies are sold right next to groceries and everyday staples. You can buy the candies already made, or pick up candy-making supplies such as molds and chocolate. They also make and sell homemade bakegoods. It is indeed one of Schuylkill County's more unique shops.

Their website says: "Candy making is quickly becoming a lost art, but at C&C Candies and Country Store, you can find everything you need to rediscover the delicious skill of homemade candies. Among the over 2000 affordable molds, you'll find many unique and hard-to-find items for your candy creations. Unlike other stores that might leave you to your own devices, you’ll not only get your needed supplies, but also personal instructions. So if you’d like to perfect your candy craft we’ll also provide you tips so your creations turn out perfect every time. Just ask one of our knowledgeable employees and you'll get exceptional service with a smile."

For more information on the Thanksgiving dinner, contact Christopher Clauser, Friedensburg Country Restaurant, 1305 Long Run Road (Route 443), at 739-0008 or via e-mail at chrisclauser@comcast.net.

Erica:  Free?  That's a great service that Mr. Clauser is offering to the community.  I don't think I've ever heard of a one of our area restaurants being so generous on Thanksgiving.

Yes, totally free. We had a little diner in Pottsville that did it for years, but they closed.

The hospitals also serve free thanksgiving dinner for anyone who needs a meal.

We have a great community

Erica,

I had to stop and comment on this blog....now here is someone who knows the importance of an act of kindness.  What a wonderful write up...I am sure there are those in the community who support his business with great loyalty as a result!  I know I would!
