Why should we pay!

Its not fair why should be pay the Realtor his commission he didn't do anything. We all have heard this statement usually its when we sell the home in a short time for the price that the home was worth, only its not from the homeowner but from the siblings that are to receive the money. They think that we are all getting super rich for not doing anything, and to explain to them what we actually do falls on deaf ears. Granted Realtors don't have to keep regular business hours working from 8 to 5 five days a week. People don't realize the nights and weekends that we do our job. Its just like any profession why should we pay the furnace repairman $300 to put in a $25 part, or the auto serviceman, or the appliance serviceman, or any of the people that provide a service to us. As Realtors we also provide a service to clients, one that takes an education, knowledge of the market, ability to relate to all types of people, plus the money that we spend on marketing, continuing education, and time spent making sure all the right paper work is done so the closing goes smoothly and so on. 

When I list a home I always tell the client what I'm going to do to sell their home in the best possible way so they receive the most money possible for their home. I always take Monday mornings an call or E-mail the clients and let them know what has happen the past week and if we need to make changes, nine times out of ten when we close they always say we appreciated that you kept us informed of the process. We all get the people that think the grass is greener on the other side, if they really thought so they would all be Realtors. I love my job and enjoy the people that I work with, some of them just need to be reminded of what we do to make them thousands of dollars. Happy Thanks Giving.

The better job we do the more we don't get credit for.  If we actually let the client know how many times and ways the deal almost blew up they would know we earned our money....but than we would not have really done our job.
