4 Things You Cannot Recover In Life

By
Education & Training with Road to Wealth, Inc.
Last week I was going through some files on George's computer and found this very inspirational message. I don't know where George found it - maybe one of his Internet pen pals sent it to him. Anyway, I felt it is just so true that I wanted to share it with all of you.

rainbowHere are the four things you cannot recover in life ...

1. The Stone ................... after it's thrown,

2. The Word .................... after it's said,

3. The Occasion ................ after it's missed,

4. The Time .................... after it's gone.

Let's make sure we never do an unkind act or say an unkind word to anyone else. Once it's done, it's done. You can't take it back. You may say, "I'm sorry," and the person may accept your apology, but you can be assured the hurt will always stay with them.

Don't miss any occasion - whether it's personal or business. Never miss an opportunity to show someone how much you care and never miss the chance to say "I love you."

And if it's business, don't let an opportunity pass you by where you have the chance to increase your present business or start a new one. The one thing you don't ever want to ask is "What might have been?"

Spend as much time as you can with family and friends. None of us knows how much time we have in this world, so use your time wisely.

Well said...in these times when things are thrown away with a whim, these are precious indeed.

What I have learned with age, (thank goodness), is to keep my thoughts to myself when I'm hurt or mad. I have to admit that this is REALLY HARD TO DO, but the end result is so much better.

The last 5 years I write it down, keep it in Draft form and re-read it the next day.  This has much better results in the long run compared to when I was much younger and just blurted or screamed out my feelings or thoughts (of which I'm sure no one cared or appreciated).  I so wish I could take back the hurt I caused.  At least I can do a better job going forward.

I was re-reading The Secret today.  Our thoughts have so much power.  It's Important to use this power wisely.  Thank you for a GREAT Reminder!     Joy

Thanks for your comments.

Joy, that's an excellent tip.  We all need to consider doing this.  I just watched Joel Osteen (as I do every Sunday morning) and this is just what he was talking about.  Getting "even" with someone who may have hurt you doesn't pay - you just repay evil with evil.  Vengeance should belong only to the Lord.  I agree - I, too, learned the hard way many years ago.

Dana, my sincere condolences.  When a loved one passes that's the time we realize how important those unrecoverable things are ... words, occassions missed, and especially time spent with them.
