Yvette - He's just looking for a meal. People who have KOI ponds don't really like these guys. They can empty out a pond of expensive fish really fast.

Yvette and Dennis, from the red stake I'd guess this bird is guarding the water hazard at the local links.  I always get a kick when these large birds start flying (and when they squawk!).  John

Oh so that's where my blue heron went.  The two that were in the pond in my neighborhood have flown the coop.  I guess they know the snow is coming.  Please send him back next spring.
