Housing Is Not The Only Bubble To Burst

Bubble BurstDid you know that

Housing Is Not The Only Bubble To Burst?

Many things you will observe are very fragile and can change from one state, one impression to another swiftly. Take the recent Tiger Woods flap about multiple women outside his wife. "Reputation" IMMEDIATELY is damaged.

Surprised Face

I'm not really sure why in life with all things fragile we are surprised when the bubble pops. I guess we don't like change. Or maybe it is perhaps that we have one rock solid perception and to alter that shakes our reality hard. Very hard.

Sometimes the old adage of don't always believe what you see or hear or read or even think, might be the best common sense advice to not suffer life's letdowns.

In life sometimes what you see and experience serves as an excellent bad example. We are all flawed so I don't mean to get up here and tell you on a pedestal anything you don't already know. But reputation is based on trust. And trust comes from your internal character. In our business and personal lives trust and reputation can be lost in a flash. They say the true mark of your character is how you are behaving when no one is watching. Well if that is not good then it later comes to light when EVERYONE is watching, well then the cat's out of the bag, despite any statements or back pedaling.

Remembering in another sense that little eyes are watching you all the time should guide you straight with your reputation if you care about a good influence in your life. We all make mistakes. But hopefully not such critical ones that we can't be forgiven and get a second chance.

Just remember, some things in life are VERY fragile.

Or how you behave when times are tough.  Everybody is great when time are good..... but what is the character of the person when under pressure.

Gary,

Life itself is so fragile. Itis unbelievably easy to become a jerk for even an adult, and for a teen to become a law breaker stemming from an innocent prank

Reputation is based on trust. And trust comes from your internal character.  I love that line you wrote.  This is so very true. Great Post from the heart.

I think it is the times I have had my bubble burst and humbled that it made me step back and made me a better person.

This is a great piece and it certainly is an important message.  I particularly liked the phrase "They say the true mark of your character is how you are behaving when no one is watching."

I think we often put people on pedestals and make them super human..Sometimes we "create" unreasonabale expectations.   On the other hand, I think Tiger would have come out better if the had told the truth and apologized and then got to work on seeing if his marriage can be repaired.

Gary,

Tiger's car windows sure did burst big time with wife giving them a few assorted golf club whacks. Wonder who recovers first, Tiger or the housing market.

Gary,

Good post and good points to ponder. I guess this Tiger thing will cool off eventually.

....or not.

Gary, great outlook on the current situation.  Thanks.  Reputations can be a very fragile thing on-line.  And often ruined on innuendo and lies.

Gary,

Really love the photos in this blog.  I agree...soooo many things in life are fragile...so I believe we must proceed at all times with a certain amount of caution in all we do.

God speaks about the importance of a good name... I know my husband has concerns about Tiger's future, not in the sense of his talent, but the subplots to every tournament he will play...

Life is very fragile....this is a great post. How different would my son's life be if I died today? A moment of inattention, but reading an email while driving could change his entire life....I often ponder how little decisions can upset an entire life.....and try and make good decisions.

Gary - We all need to be able to look ourselves in the mirror each day.  Even if Tiger's wife keeps him around, the damage is irreparable. And, if you ask me I think it is totally wrong that she agrees to be paid off. What's that make her?
