What if 25% of visitors can't see the "View My Listings Button" on your website.

Ever wonder how your site looks on someone else's computer?

Can the visitors to your site see (100%) what you are trying to present on your web-page?

Well just like many other things online, google can help you answer that question too. Google just published a tool called Browser Size that lets Web-masters see how much of their pages are visible in people's browsers.

Using this visualization tool Google confirmed that on Google Earth's page about 10% of users couldn't see the download button without scrolling, and never noticed it as a result. You can read more about it at their blog here.

Browser Size is based on a sample of data from visitors to Google.com. This is Google Labs product not tailored for your website but this tool is still very relevant because most of your visitors are also Googlers. It doesn't show you the true picture if your site has fluid width. Go ahead, try it at http://browsersize.googlelabs.com/ and see if you can make any chages to make your site better for your visitors.

Perfect timing! I am working on a new site to generate leads. It dawned that I have tailored to page to look great on my monitor, a 25" widescreen Gateway. This tool has brought tome perspective to my project. (And a whole lotta work recreating my page!)

Mark wide screen monitors are becoming more popular but a page should be designed with visitors in mind. I used to have  fluid width for my websites but I have it fixed to 900 some pixels now because fluid width can distract people when they are using wide screen monitors like your 25"..
