RECYCLING IN VOLUSIA COUNTY

I am proud to be posting this information about Volusia County, Florida.earth

For anyone who's concerned about our atmosphere, which should be everyone, I have some great news for those who live in Volusia County, Florida. Until now, residents of unincorporated areas of Volusia County were only able to recycle items coded 1 and 2. Now, they'll be able to recycle items coded 1 through 7.

This may sound strange to residents who live within the incorporated areas, but prior to July 1, 2007, the unincorporated areas were unable to recycle their margarine tubs, cottage cheese tubs, sour cream containers, yogurt cups, hot drink tops, deli containers, CD cases, prescription bottles and syrup bottles. But now they can!

So don't forget to recycle these items. Our planet depends on it. Follow this link for more information from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Lisa.,... nice post. It's nice to see some areas stepping it up.

On another note, I am actually helping clients finance their home in Volusia County. Small world.  ;o)  They live in Orange City.

Jeff- Very cool! That area is what we call West Volusia. It's part of Volusia County, but kind of separate. I guess because there's about a 15 miles stretch between the Daytona area and the DeLand/Orange City area, that has very little development. But the gap has been closing more and more with every year.
