New Hampshire Carbon Monoxide Detectors Legislative Update

New Hampshire Carbon Monoxide Detectors Legislative Update, Baker Home Energy Audit and Commercial Properties Inspections wants the residences of New Hampshire to know, as of 1 January 2010, New Hampshire Legislative made it Mandatory, for rentals and new single family homes are required to have carbon monoxide detectors.



Every rental unit must be equipped with at least one automatic fire warning device (smoke detector) and at least one carbon monoxide detection device (RSA 153:10-a). To be either hardwired or battery operated devices are permitted.



New Hampshire Carbon Monoxide Detectors Legislative Update, the mandatory carbon monoxide detector law also applies to all single family homes built or substantially rehabilitated after 1 January 2010.



Previously in the State of New Hampshire, all rental units, as well as new single family homes or substantially rehabilitated homes, were only required to have a automatic fire warning device (smoke detector).



New Hampshire Carbon Monoxide Detectors Legislative Update, The carbon monoxide detectore provision was added by the New Hampshire legislature earlier this year.
