Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store

Real Estate Agent

It's the middle of winter, in the 20s, and a light covering of snow in my yard in Valparaiso, Indiana.  So why do I have ice cream on my mind?  Well, because any day is a good day for the flavorful and satisfying ice cream from Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store.  Besides, they carry more than just ice cream!

At Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Stores, you can find all kinds of dairy products including milk and chocolate milk in glass bottles!  When was the last time you had some tasty milk out of a glass container instead of plastic?  Not only that, but they also offer home delivery to a limited area.

The Oberweis Dairy tradition was started in 1951 and is now operated by the third and fourth generations of the Oberweis family.  I, for one, am very glad that their Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store in Valparaiso, Indiana is open year round.  Any day is a good day for ice cream at 2505 La Porte Ave, Suite 171, in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Irene, We have often heard the people at our local ice cream stop tell us that they sell lots of ice cream when it's really cold outside.  Seems funny, doesn't it?

Hi Irene - I love this!  It brings back childhood memories of the milk truck coming through the neighborhood delivery dairy products.  Thanx for the memories!

Sandy - Back in 1986, we moved to Dayton, Ohio from Houston, Texas.  I was so shocked when winter came along and the ice cream shops closed for the season.  I could not believe it.  That was only one of my cultures shocks just moving across the country.

Pamela - I love the Oberweis ice cream.  Lucky for me the dairy store is close enough for me to drop in often.

Thanks to you both for stopping in and commenting.  Go out and treat yourselves to a scoop of ice cream.

Irene, I lived in northeast Indiana for many years so it's Edy's for us!  In fact, I had one client that came on tour with multi-colored stained hands.  When I asked if he was a painter - he laughed and said "I make ice cream!"  And I don't care how cold it is - ice cream always tastes yummy.

Can i say fresh strawberry or butter pecan. I may have to make a trip thru Indiana this summer and this may be a good stop to make on the way.

Susan - I never realized that ice cream stained hands.  I agree with you.  Ice cream can be enjoyed anytime!

Steve - So do I but my freezer is empty since I haven't had time to go shopping.  That's on my list for tomorrow!

Robert - Pralines  and cream is probably my favorite.  There's also Dulce de Leche.  OK, I'm hungry again.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and commenting.  Have a good night.
