Is Life a Highway or a Long and Winding Road?

By
Real Estate Agent with Westcott Group Real Estate Company

1991, Tom Cochrane sang “Life is a highway…I want to ride it all night long.”  Life in general may be a highway, but for those in sales, life tends to be more of a “long and winding road,” full of twists and turns.  The life of a salesperson can be exciting one moment, and harrowing the next.  When things are good, living on commission can be exhilarating.  When things are slow, the thought of a regular paycheck suddenly becomes very appealing.   Unfortunately, we can’t have the best of both worlds.

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

That's quite a highway shot!    I've always thought that life was more of a cul de sac approach...you know. we lurch up these little circular byways, and then get back onto that linear road.     I think this might be the 21st Century design, too, so real estate agents should fit right in!

Life is a journey, sometimes a long and winding road, sometimes in darkness and other times in shining light, and sometimes on the easy and beautiful highway.  We should appreciate the gift of life and all of these experiences.

I'm in for the long ride! And, as you said, when it's good, living on a commission is wonderful. When times are tough, a regular paycheck seems very appealing.

By the way, I know that's not the LIE or the Northern or Southern State Parkways, not only because of the mountains in the background, but also because there's no traffic! Oh how I miss my days living on the Island!

From the desk of David Dee,

Adam, good to see you around. I've been mia and recently came back myself. I also believe in multiple stream of income. It is the best way towards achieving health, wealth, and happyness. That's a nice take on the "Pursuit of Happyness". :D It is a long winding road and what you put into it will determine the length of the journey. It is more than just a destination.

Adam.... love this song, the notations... I know it has it's ups and downs and I love that I can get up and go too! We are lucky, but if we keep the exposure out there we can keep it steady ;) Some people just stop all together... Too bad for them!

Good Luck and be you! Don't know what happened(from a blog I read), but stay TRUE to you! I posted on my FB recently, "let the negative people go, they only bring negative and delete them off your FB too! I have 591 other friends ;)" and I know you do too :)

Great post.  I'd love to hear about the other streams of income you have developed & plan to develop.
