Most major school districts called it a day even before the first bus rolled out of the garage as the area readies itself for another 4-8 inches of snow. High winds later today could cause serious drifting. To date Central Ohio has had over 31 inches of snow, while the average snowfall per year is 29 inches. Whith more on the way, the winter of 2009-2010 will prove to be a challenging! one! What's the weatehr like where you are at?

Sam

I was surprised that all the major school districts except Columbus can celled. My daughter is in Columbus, she must be fit to be tied.

Level 2 snow emergency in our community, the main roads are still pretty clean but the side streets and back roads in the country are pretty slick.  I think Knox County made the right call when they cancelled school this morning.  This is only our second snow day so we still have quite a bit of wiggle room before we get into make up days.

Joe - They cancelled school today and what I found very interesting is that they made the announcement last night.  I am sure safety was the key consideration.  Our main roads are very clean but I am sure the country roads still need some added attention.  Did they close schools in Columbus today?
