What's in YOUR Backyard?

What's In YOUR Backyard?

OK, I decided to stop whining about the weather, and go out and try to make it work for me. It was 17 degrees, with a light snow and the sun came out for a little while, so I went out to my backyard (bravely, I thought) to fool around and see what I could do to alleviate my boredom.

Sometimes, Mother Nature comes up with the most pleasing of surprises, providing something magical when we least expect it.

I'm pretty sure that if I had gone out there with a mind to capture a 'star snowflake' reflected in the sun, this would not have happened.

Star Flake

Most of our snows here are heavy and wet, but once in awhile we get this very light, fluffy snow that gently piles up with beautifully formed flakes.

LMBO, Cheryl! Frozen HAND was definitely the meaning! Darn, it was COLD out there! And yes, the sun being out today made for a beautiful day, but in the winter I envy your few degrees more of warmth than we get up here. However, summer time up here is another story altogether!

Thanks Carole! And when you get them together, I'll be excited to get started. It will be fun working with you!

Debi, you sure did make the weather work for you.  Your photos are beautiful.  When any of my family members complain about our weather when it's 40 degrees, I remind them that it could be colder with 2 feet of snow ... then they smile :-)
