It's OK to Dream - Million Dollar Homes in Raleigh, Cary & Apex, North Carolina

One of the Raleigh, North Carolina area's million dollar plus homes.

As a Realtor I have the opportunity to view a lot of homes. And while the average price of a home here in the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area is around $230,000, every now and then I like to go visit those homes that one can only dream of owning.

There are currently over 160 million dollar plus homes on the market in Raleigh, Cary and Apex. The highest priced one is over $8,000,000!

The one pictured above, which is not my listing, is located in Cary, sits on a little more than an acre of property, has 5 bedrooms, 6 full and 2 half bathrooms, a master suite big enough to accommodate you and your extended family, and enough square footage to probably qualify as a small country!

To see all the currently available million dollar homes click on the picture of the castle.

Don't be afraid. It's OK to dream....

Craig - I thought you had to ask permission to take pictures of people's homes?  That's okay you have my permission.  Thank you for showcasing my humble abode.

Hello Craig, 160 million dollar + homes in your area got me to thinking about what's available here.  So, a quick search of the area revealed 35 million dollar+ homes and 2 contingent in Madison County.  The highest priced home is $6,950,000 it was originally listed on 11/06/07 at $14,400,00...wow talk about a price reduction.  If you know anyone looking for a deal...send them my way...I'm sure we can work something out!!!

That looks like a real life castle! I've never understood why a house needs more bathrooms than there are bedrooms!

Nevin - Knowing you just want it sold already, I figured a little more exposure would help you out!!!

Nick - I knew this post was going to get others to check their local MLS to see what's happening in the million dollar market in their neck of the woods!!!

Wanda - I'm with you Wanda! Despite my objections, he's been eyeing this fixer-upper...!!!

Rebecca - We all can dream. We all can dream!

Donna - Q. Why does a house need more bathrooms than bedrooms? A. For all your incontinence needs!

Craig, I'm not sure I'd want the extended family :)!  I can't imagine the long lost cousins who would end up following me if I lived in a home/mansion like this.  Besides, I kind of like cosy....A little home on a lot of land was always what I wanted.  (Well, I got the little home anyway :)

Craig - I'm with Carole.  I'll pass on the extended family too.  It is a gorgeous house though!

We have homes like that down here.  I went to see one that was about 23,000 sq feet under air.  It had a half bath in the master bedroom, because after you passed through each sitting room into his or her bathroom, it was so far you needed the half bath.

Hi Craig, That is a beautiful home.  I didn't click on the link, I dream of having a housekeeper, gardener and cook just to keep up with my little home --- of course one would need all those amenities for the castle, too!

Carole - Cozy with some land works for me too. I mean really now, who needs a home so big you need two zip codes for the address! What, no extended family for you?!!!

Elyse - Like I commented to Carole, no one needs a home that big, especially not one like the one you've described. But it is nice to dream.

Lou - As long as I'm alive, I'll keep dreaming...

Mary - I wouldn't mind a housekeeper, gardener and a cook either! While we're at it, let's throw in a limo driver as well. It's OK to dream...

The house is stunning. however the thought of having to shop for all the furniture it needs is the kicker. What are the taxes on this?
