Snow Job or Snowed Under

By
Real Estate Agent with Mezzina Real Estate & Insurance

The snow job has been a long over used cliche' long before Tony Snow was a White House press secretary and I am not sure of it's origin, or, true meaning. If you google it you might be as surprised as I was over some of the definitions and use. I have settled to accept the meaning to be an attempt to be deceive as it was used in my childhood.4 West Brig

By some accounts it was a term that originated during Worl118 Lake Medfordd War II but they fail to give any specifics and leave it to the readers imagination as to the what and how the snow job deceived anyone. One account linked it to the term snowed under. Lately it seems Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey has been snowed under. It has been one storm after another here and to be quite frank about it. It has slowed down the sales of homes in my area for me. And, that is no snow job.

Do buyers think real estate agents are giving them a snow job? Can they be sitting there wanting to buy a house but scared to move forward because they have been given one too many snow jobs by our peers and trade organizations? Do they not have any faith left? Did we suck all the money out of their wallets with the "great time to buy" sales pitch?112 North Ensign

I don't kn18 West Boatow how buyers are feeling. I just know I'm feeling a little snowed under and have these house to sell. They are nice homes and I told the owners I would do my best to get the job done. I'm not hiding anything from anyone while I go about the job of selling them. I hope the owners didn't hide anything from me when we discussed getting the home sold. I point out things that need to be done to make the place more appealing but I don't tell them how to hide anything. Actually, if I see something that I would point out to a buyer I like to get it on the table right away. It may even be in the description part of the listing for everyone to see before they make the discovery themselves. It is a great time to buy. Interest rates are low, inventory is high, and prices have dropped to a realistic figure. It is a great time to buy.

Well, it's a SNOW day. So, excuse me for my ramblings. But SPRING will come.Flowers Under the Snow

This is a clever article, Greg. I liked your transition with snow job. Sometimes I feel sorry for the buyers. There is so much news out there it has to be difficult to rellykno9w what to do. Of course, this makes it all the more important to work with a good, reliab le Realtor when looking for a home.
