Can't print a capital p - how do I get rid of a hotkey?

By

p

Whenever I'm typing a capital p my computer skips that letter, opens Windows Media player, then proceeds with the next typed letters.  It's driving me crazy.

Apparently this "Shift + p" is a hotkey. I don't have the media player open, and don't want to open it. I just want to type a capital p.

Can anyone help me get rid of this shortcut or hotkey?

No idea -- but hope someone can assist as it sounds maddening. All the best.

Shift P should not do that Sharon. Very flaky. Maybe some dirt stuck down in the keys. Spray some computer cleaner in there??

Remember the old - is it plugged in? is it turned on?

Well, I shut the machine down and rebooted, and it went away.

I remember having the problem a few months back, too - not sure how I got rid of it. Maybe the same way.

I am just listening.  it has happened to me when I pause to think with my hands on the keyboard and that darn thing pops up.  I can't remember what I did either.

ALT+SHIFT+P opens Windows Media Player.  It could be that your ALT key is getting stuck.  Worth checking anyway...

Marcia - I understand the feeling.

Waco - thanks. I'll check my keyboard.
