Great pictures of those birds, Mary.  I had never heard of that retreat and what a perfect setting for it.  I was a Buddhist for 2 weeks by the way :)

How did you get those photos of hummingbirds? Every time I see a hummingbird in my yard, I think about running inside to get my camera. But I know that by the time I get back, the hummingbird will be gone. The only way to get a photo of a hummingbird is to set up my camera on a tripod where I suspect a hummingbird might appear and sit there to wait for one to show up, and even then, the likelihood of capturing a great photo of a hummingbird in mid-air is pretty nil.

Now who would have thought that there would be a Shambhala Mountain Center in Colorado? I never been able to get into meditating, but that environment might just do the trick. Beautiful photos and great Localism post.

What a perfectly peaceful place to live near... They had a Shambala Center where I lived in Boulder. A wonderful space for a community, especially in the mountains... I love the winged beings, humming hymns in your illustrations! :-)

Hi Janna, It is really a beautiful and architecturely interesting building isn't it?  Something very different and unique. I'm glad you stopped in, thanks Janna!

Hi Linda, The million dollar cabin? Thanks Linda!  I think you would like the Shambhala Mountain Center if you like meditation and yoga.

Thank you Shirley, I'm getting anxious to see the spring flowers and those hummingbirds again :-)  It's always nice to see you Shirley, thanks :-)

Hi Debi, It was fun photographing them, they are just fascinating- and quick!  I appreciate you stopping in, thanks Debi!

Hi Ann, Say hello to Mom, I'm so glad she liked the hummers.  I hope your Dad is doing better today, thank you Ann!

Hi Marianne,  It's an amazing building.  I went there with my sister-in-laws and took the tour.  It's a very interesting and beautiful place.  Thanks for coming by, I appreciate it Marianne!

Hi Cynthia, Thank you for your thoughts, I'm glad you like the hummingbirds! and if you like yoga and meditation you have to come :-)

Thanks Jane,  it is the perfect setting, picked for a special reason - but I don't remember the story.  The fact that you were a Buddhist for 2 weeks, for some reason made me chuckle - it's such a finite period of time :-)  Glad you stopped by Jane, it's always a pleasure.

Hi Elizabeth, I have a hummingbird feeder.  Last summer I set my camera on continuous shooting and a fast shudder speed and stood by the feeder.  Lots of shots were blurry, but some came in pretty clear.  I think I was out there for at least an hour :-)  Good luck catching your hummers and thanks for stopping in!

Hi Lou, Thank you for stopping by, of course I think it's a great lifestyle living here :-)

Thanks Carol,  I agree with you, I think the environment lends itself to quieting thoughts.  From what I see from your photos, you have those places where you live too :-)

Hi Mara, You're right, they do have one in Boulder . I've never been there and don't know if they also have a Stupa?  I'm glad you liked the hummingbirds, thank you Mara!

Hi Sheldon, Well thank you so much, I'm glad you liked the photos and happy to see you today!

Hi Tammy, Yes, that lower end cabin is only $69,500 -but very rustic.  I think it comes with the outhouse though:-)  Thanks Tammy, I'm glad you stopped by and glad I could share the wildflowers with you!

Hi Gerry, After your crazy week maybe you check in :-)  I hope things are more calm and I appreciate you stopping by Gerry!  Thanks for checking out my post and my little hummers!

Hi Kirsten!  Thank you so much!  Bob's challenge is stretching my brain!  Hopefully I will make it over to your post without proxy and bad gateway errors - I tried last night but it didn't work so well:-)  I appreciate you stopping in and your kind words, thanks Kirsten!

Hi Caren, Thanks for your thoughts on it, you're right it is a very tranquil place :-)  I'm glad you stopped by Caren, it's always nice to see you!

Mary, This looks like a beautiful place. I have a massage therapist that keeps telling me that I don't know what I'm missing until I learn to do yoga and take up meditation. I would love to learn how to do both.

Hi Cherise, I wondered about the hummingbirds - they are so busy and don't seem very peaceful at times; but when frozen in a photo they do portray a certain amount of peace :-)  Thanks for your thoughts on it, have a wonderful day.

Hi Sandy,  Let me know when you are coming for your retreat, I will meet you there and learn too.  I have tried yoga and found it is far more difficult than I thought it was :-)  Just the mention of a massage therapist makes me realize I'm feeling "all crunked up" today LOL  I'm glad you came by, thanks Sandy!
