The Hamptons Visitors Council was established in 1990 and is composed of the six Chambers of Commerce in the Township of Southampton, Long Island, New York. The main purpose of the Hamptons Visitors Council is to promote tourism to the Hamptons as a destination primarily in the spring and fall seasons - the shoulder seasons of this high summer resort vacation area. The Hamptons Visitors Council, or HVC, is comprised of the following six local chamber of Commerce from West to East by location: The Eastport Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce, The East Quogue Chamber of Commerce, The Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce, The Southampton Chamber of Commerce and The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce.

The Hamptons Visitors Council Board of Directors is composed of four volunteer members from each chamber appointed by each of the Chamber of Commerce Boards. Funding comes from individual Chamber of Commerce dues contributions, direct support from Southampton Town and respective Incorporated Villages withing the township, as well as from individual business sponsors and matching funds from the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission (LICVBSC).

The organization works with each Chamber of Commerce and the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission to plan and execute promotions, cooperative advertising, and public relations that will benefit all of the communities within the Town of Southampton area as specific destination for visitors. The Hamptons Visitors Council is a vital link between the tourism efforts of the Township, each Chamber of Commerce and the far-reaching programs of the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission and the Empire State Development Corporation Division of Tourism.

The Hamptons Visitors Council is a resource for government on regional tourism matters that affect the business community, such as tourism centers and other economic development issues. They also provide a network for communication between the Chambers of Commerce. Each month the six Chambers of Commerce Executive Representatives meet at the Town of Southampton Offices for their planning sessions under the leadership of Executive Director Andrea Gurvitz.

The organization is a group of volunteer professionals and one salaried part-time director that is dedicated to the advancement of a healthy economy on the East End of Long Island through the promotion of tourism, a leading industry in the region.
