Moose Definitely Not a Moose-A Baby Gator in New Port Richey-Florida

By
Real Estate Agent with Re/Max Sunset Realty

Well, Moose Monday rolled around again (as it does quite frequently) and moose are as scarce as hen's teeth in New Port Richey, Florida. I thought I would share with you one of the wonders of our area.

No, it's not a moose but it showed up in our pond on Easter Sunday and is so darn cute. I had an imprompt contest on FB last night to name him. So let me introduce Tebow, the baby gator. He's about 3-3.5 feet in length and more scared of us than we are of him. But, I hope he moves on before he grows up; he'll need a bigger pond.

I saw some of those along highway 75 (Alligator Alley), when I was in Florida in February. . .But they were 10 to 12 feet long or so:-)

Yikes those guys scare me WAY more than snakes we have here in Arizona. I hope he does find another home - or you will have too!

Wow, I would not want to go swimming in the area. In fact, it could be scary just to walk around in the area.

Hi Toni-

I love your gator, but I have to confess that I would be more afraid of him!

Hi Everyone, thanks for visiting Tebow; he wasn't around yesterday maybe found another place to stay :)   Actually, John, we did encounter a gator walking down the street looking for a water hole. Mostly you see them in mating season. My husband had to rescue a neighbor who had one in her yard.  He used an orange plucker to discourage it (it was only about 4.5 ft).

Toni,

I did not get mad but smiled when I saw your "moose definitely not a moose" named Tebow.  :-)

I know it is not easy to find moose in FL for Moose Monday but I appreciate your participation and efforts to find moose in all shapes and size to post to this group.   :)

Toni, my cousin had a little guy like that living in the pond in his back yard in Lutz Florida.  It wasn't so much of a problem, but you never know if he brought any of his older/bigger friends with!!

NIck, we're just a few miles from Lutz, and we have seen some of his older, bigger friends :) We know a family named Pappas in this area. They own restaurants; any relation?
