Buy the high ground.

I almost went to REBarCAmp Nashville last week, but could not make it. Since Monday, when I saw the flooding inside the OpreyLand Hotel, and looking into the news. I can't help being just sick about the whole deal.

NashvilleBrian hasn't had a shower in days and has bird poop all over his Mercedes. Water rationing is necessary. 1,000's of shiny guitars and fuzzy amps are under water, and ruined.

Now, Ive still never visited Nashville, which is a shame, but I can't help feeling so disturbed by whats happened there.  In our Atlanta area we've had some flooding too but on a much smaller scale. Peachtree creek, and a few others, has killed some prime real estate.

Speaking for myself I'm going to be looking out for the creeks and know where the high ground is.  If a home has a driveway that goes down hill from the street I'm going to have a new disclosure doc for any buyer that's considering it saying that they understand that I've advised then against it. All historic flood data is now worthless.

Soldiers have always fought for the high ground. Sign me up.
