A Chance Meeting
While out showing some delightful looking homes to some new Buyers retiring here in the Rancho Bernardo area, I was telling them about the Rancho Bernardo Winery just down the street and how wonderful it was.
After the showings were over, I decided to stop over and walk around the grounds a bit before returning to the office. In one of the large buildings I saw the huge door slid open and hadn't recalled seeing in there before so I stuck my head in.
There were a couple workers filling wine storage containers and I said hello. I mentioned that I loved this property and had written a blog on the history of the winery and what a treasure the Winery was to the area.
With that, a younger looking gentleman came over and introduced himself and I knew he had to be related to the owner because I recognized the last name. Forgetting for a moment my own blog information, he was the grandson of the founder and is now running the winery after his father passed away suddenly two years ago.
I expressed to him that was indeed an honor meet him and asked if I might call and come by for an interview with him for more history of the amazing Winery. I was delighted when he said it would be his pleasure and offered me his card.
So one day in the not too distant future I will be able to present to you a descendants perspective on the history and how this the wonderful winery figures into the area and about his life today as the Director of the Winery.
It was a wonderful day with some just wonderful folks who will soon be calling Rancho Bernardo home and capping off the day with a great "Chance Meeting" of Ross Risso, Director of the Rancho Bernadro Winery.
