Hey Everybody!

Are you on Twitter

I've been actively "Tweeting" since mid-April and find that I really like it.  It is strangely addicting!

Micro-blogging has a nice way of cutting through the BS.  When you only have 140 characters for the entire message, there is no room for fluff.  Get straight to the point and move on.  This style really suits me well.

What do you think is Twitter here to stay, or is it just a fad?

-Bill

Roy,

Yes!  I've been doing that since August of last year!  It is a nice way to spread the word about my blogging!  When I first did it, it was simply for the Facebook exposure, but then Twitter seemed to be worth looking into as well.

They both have their place!  Follow Me On Twitter!

@Melissa! Thanks!  You too!

@Fernando!  I think you're probably right.  Though Facebook and Twitter seem to have already stood the test of time.  They've both made it for a couple years now!  For the on-line "it" thing, that is a pretty good run.

In this fast-moving world of marketing, I don't think ANYTHING will be around forever. I'm making good use of it while it's here!

Hi Bill,

It is an interesting phenomena.

I set out to get 2000 followers.

Didn't make it, but ended up with 600+

Tweeting everyday is tedious, however, so mostly I just post videos.

Will something come of it?

Time will tell...

I have found that my Twitter audience is a completely different one than my blog and ActiveRain, or even Facebook accounts. So, I use them each to their particular advantage.  Not much different than choosing if you're going to do a newspaper ad (broadcasting and branding), mailing a farm area (local reach like Twitter or ActiveRain), or sending a newsletter to your past clients (Facebook).  Messages need to fit each audience.  It's definitely not rocket science but a lot of people still get intimidated by it and/or don't know how to approach it.  Good for you that you embrace new things!
