HAR CONSUMER VIDEO SERIES ~ WHAT IS A BROKER? Is there a difference between being a licensed real estate agent and a license real estate Broker? The answer is YES! Hi Paula,

Good info, I love using videos (done a few myself) to inform consumers. I do however have a question when the moderator explained the "duties" i.e. cma, etc. Am I hearing correctly, does it take a broker vs. an agent to do that?  Am I wrong that an agents also does that in the daily practice of r.e.?

No, of course not.  I think the series is just trying to help consumers know some of the jargon.

Paula....there is much confusion between a licensed agent and a broker.....CMA vs appraisal is another good comparison....

It's the difference between jumping over a small ditch versus the Grand Canyon with leadership responsibilities and liability.  Agents tend to think as themselves as independent contractors, while brokers function their operations as businesses.  g
