Let The Games Begin - World Cup 2010, Day 11

Day 10 of World Cup 2010 brought a new day, somethings were expected and others... you didn't think would have happened.

Paraguay defeated Slovakia 2 - 0, Italy and New Zealand finished with a 1 - 1 tie and Brazil as expected won 3 - 1 over Ivory Coast.

Monday June 21, 2010 World Cup 2010 enters Day 11.

Today we will see the 32nd game that brings us to a point that each team has played two games.  Starting tomorrow the noose will start to tighten.  The vast majority of fans are looking for big things to happen today with the Portugal match and the Spain match.  Personally, we are looking for a lot more scoring by Portugal and Spain.

Game 30 will be between Portugal and North Korea played at Cape Town Stadium (Cape Town), with a capacity for the World Cup of 69,070.

Game 31 will be between Chile and Switzerland and played at Nelson Mandela Bay (Port Elizabeth)with a capacity for the World Cup of 48,459.

Game 32 will be between Spain and Honduras at Ellis Park Stadium (Johannesbury), with a capacity for the World Cup of 65,000.

How about a quick quiz, what flag belongs to what country... good luck.

In the rain, it also rained goals for the Portuguese team on North Korea, somebody will pay for this!

Al and Peggy,

I think you got a clearer winner above for the guest which flags contest!  :)

And it sure rained goals on North Korea in their latest match (now, should I be mesmorized with this latest and very unexpected occurrence of the number 7?  Lol).  I enjoy the daily updates on the World Cup!   Thank you.

Al & Peggy - Big things definitely happened today and I only watched about a 30 minutes of Portugal's game.

Hmmm, Ed has answered the flag quiz so I can cross that off my to-do list.  Good thing too, especially since we finally have more guidance regarding the HST (can you believe the government are releasing critical info just 9 or 10 days before it gets implemented?)  How is this for being totally off topic, eh? :)

Ed you did a bang up job on naming those flags! It sure did rain goal and you are right some will pay!

Ha, ha, Gerry you are welcome. Yes you should be mesmorized by the 7's, funny eh!

Glad you got in 30 minutes Michelle, we didn't catch it actually but boy we heard about it LOL!

Hopefully the French got it straightened out Craig. Yes, the games are finally starting LOL!

Bet you were yelling George! It was good to see them come back with that much steam!

Your fine off topic Marc, Leave it to McGuinty right? Good luck sorting through it though

Al and Peggy I did my fair share of yelling, and I yelled as much of not more today during the U.S. match.  What a game!!!
