In reading Ben Kinney's book "Soci@l", I discovered there are many chapters that I need to spend a lot of time studying in order to begin implementing all of the valuable suggestions.

I have a Facebook and Twitter account, however, my concentration at the moment is to improve my blogging techniques, and learn how to create more hits to my ArizonaProperty4u.com web site from the content and SEO techniques.

Consequently, while I did read up through the "Effective Blogging" chapter, that is where I have temporarily stopped and intend to concentrate my efforts. Once my blogging is up to par I can then focus on the other Soci@l Media platforms that I feel will be most appropriate for me.

One of Ben's methods discussed in the Soci@l book is to hire college students to write "specific" articles. In order for me to hire someone to write an article, I must first know exactly what I want and be able to explain the specifications that the writer must utilize.

That includes the subject, length, title, keyword density, and tags. Once the writer understands this, I can use that method; and I'm looking forward to reaching that stage.

I've learned to effectively use photos, and recently began incorporating my own real estate videos. For some time I've used humorous videos to make a point.

Ben pointed out a couple of agents sites who have been very effectively using videos, and as I see it, videos will continue to play an even more important role in blogging.

Something very important I learned from Ben Kinney's Soci@l book, is that I was mistakenly using "tags" as "keywords". Now I have to go back through all of my posts and remove those keywords from the tag field and replace them with "tag" words.

Think of "tags" as your blog site "Table of Contents".  You can choose a tag phrase and write multiple articles about the phrase to help dominate the phrase online.

Hi Bill -- Soci@l is definitely a good read. Your point about the difference between key words and tags is appreciated. I need to clearly cement that in my mind, too.

Hi Lottie, I think of it as a way to find the posts since there is no way to categorize them. Today when I want to find an old post of mine I have to scroll all of them; and I only have 173 at this time. I can imagine the problem when I have 1,000.

Bill - how often I read a blog and it is a skillful SEO thing. I am sure it gets the juice. What i tend to believe is that just well written content will pretty much do the same trick.

We spend time on keywords, and I read that aGoogle does not weigh it base on keywords, but instead the content is the key, and then the communication is the key. They are sort of trying to get as close to real writing, while we are trying to walk away of netural writing for humans, and are trying to write for the robot.

Just a thought

Thanks Jon, it would be nice to know what Google really looks for, and we could all write for that. What I'm hoping to strive for is a balance of content and SEO.
