Why They Call It Rock Creek

Rock Creek flows through Washington, beginning somewhere north of Gaitthersburg, Maryland and flowing into the Potomac River in Georgetown.

I'm very fortunate to live in a neighborhood that is surrounded on three sides by the park.  We can enjoy the cycling and running paths, and the natural beauty of the place always amazes me.

This afternoon, I pulled my car over on Beach Drive and took these photos of the creek, swollen with recent rain waters.

If you are planning to move to or from the Washington Mtropolitan area, call text or email me.  I'd be happy to help.

Gorgeous!  Rock Creek Park always fascinates me since it's smack in the middle of the city.

Stacey Ann, it's my favorite route  through the city.

Pat, You really captured Rock Creek. Looks like it was raining at the same time the sun was shining.

Howdy and evening to you Patricia

Rock Creek and the area around it, sure is mighty fine and very peaceful looking. And this spot sure would be a nice one to just sit and think. You sure did take some real fine photo to share with folks!!!

Have a good one

Hi Pat... As a college student living in DC, what I remember most about Rock Creek Park was what a great place it was to go and think about things.  I think that I thought about things a lot back then!

Pat,

Very pretty, but which came first, the water or the rocks? Not that it matters. :)

You can just pull your car over and take these shots? Wow. That's amazing. It looks so peaceful... as long as you don't fall in! I just love water. It has a calming effect on me =)
