A Little Good News Today

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with TheHousingGuru.com

Foreclosures rise, unemployment continues, a catastrophic oil leak, and a world drowning in debt; is there no good news to be found? While we often lament the stories that fill our newspapers and airwaves, we don’t have to allow them to pull us down, to dishearten; attitude is a choice. We choose how we react to the events of each day. And, more importantly, our choice can create a little good news today, for we truly are the masters of our fate.

Occasionally when reading comments on my posts or those of others who, like me, report on the happenings in the economy, I’m dismayed by the number of responses from those who have chosen to allow the negative news to govern both their attitude and the direction of their lives. That’s a choice we don’t have to make.

While burying our heads in the sand will not make the bad news go away, we can control our reaction; and we can bring some good news to others. These tough economic times have brought suffering to millions; and there are lots of ways we can help. We can volunteer our services, contribute to local charities, prepare meals for those in need, and any number of hundreds of other possibilities. Need a little good news today? Don’t look for it; create it. Wallowing in gloom only contributes to the problem. Be aware of the circumstances that surround you and move on. You have the power to change your world; begin by sharing a smile and bringing some good news to another.

Listen to Anne Murray and make a commitment to create some good news.

Life is so short that I try each day to do one positive thing, though I cannot change the economy I can make a small difference, if it means just helping a turtle across the road or taking the time to hold the door for a stranger. Good blog, I hope that more people will begin to focus on being positive than being devoured by all the negative......remember the good is powered by God, the negative by the devil.

John,  Excellent reminder to focus on the things we CAN do, as opposed to the can't's.

John.....It is not what happens to us, but how we respond to it.  Keeping a positive attitude, looking for the good and helping others goes along way in creating a good news environment.

When we have problems we need to find solutions. There's no point in allowing ouselves to be depressed over the circumstances we don't have any control over.

John.......most of us need a little sugar with a bitter pill.......but when we run out of sugar, the bitter is still bitter......but only for a short time and then the process may or may not repeat itself......One thing remains certain that you, me and the commentators can all agree on is that Life is to be lived.............for we will not pass this way again....thank you for your post

So true sir, we have a new opportunity everyday to make it better than the day before.  We also have the opportunity to remember how the bad affected yesterday and continue in it.

A smile always makes me feel better in the morning.

Don - And a seemingly insignificant smile has the power to change a life.
