I just read an article last week where two guys escaped from a maximum security prison. Then, I read today that one was captured and the other still at large. How do you escape from a prison in today's security conscious world?
I mean once they are remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections or the Marshall's office, you would think that that system is fool proof. It has not always been that way though.
Alcatraz was famous for not allowing break-outs only to become famous when they occurred. Here's another one.....Remember when Kennedy was shot......How was Ruby able to kill Oswald if Oswald was in custody. What type of custody are we talking about here?
Now I can see if you are in a minimum security facility and you risk losing that plum situation in which to carry out your sentence..and you just break out because you had enough. That is not hard to do. Of course when they catch you, you are not going back to golfing and gardening......NO you go to medium or maximum after that. Other than that, how can you escape?
When I have occasion to visit the courts where I live, in the criminal division, they march the prisoners in.......... in shackles and handcuffs all the time screaming...WALKING HERE. In addition, they are all wearing bright orange. So, it appears that the system works at that point. However, once they get to their destinations...you read about an escape.
I also wonder how many escaped and were not reported..but captured. During these trouble times, the last thing anyone wants to hear about is that some high security prison were there are armed guards and extraordinary measures failed.....
To the guys who successfully were able to fool and overcome the system........do they get a well done for our incompetency?
