Speechless Sunday - Oklahoma Tomatoes!

Real Estate Agent with McGraw Realtors

We're near the end of a long summer here in Oklahoma and it has been scorching hot.  But the days are long, the sun is shining and the home grown tomatoes are in season!  This plate of Oklahoma tomatoes was grown by Diane in our garden.  Each day, we walk out, pick the ones that are ready, bring them in, cut them up and have them with dinner.  Our Oklahoma tomatoes are delicious this year (especially with salt on them!)  We've even taken some of our Oklahoma tomatoes and made fried green tomatoes out of them!  Yummy!

Mmm. In the summer time I think I could have tomato sandwich for breakfast, lunch and dinner somedays. Well, that and watermelon too. Have a great Sunday!

What is it about fresh tomatoes, that tell us summer is here.  I love slicing them, with cucumbers, red onion, and a little fresh basil.  Then I drizzle a bit of garlic wine vineagar on top.

Oh yeah?  Well, NC tomatoes are pretty darn good too!  ;)

The tomatoes are awesome this time of year and like you have them, just a little salt and it's a definite summer treat!

Your tomatoes look so fresh & juicy...makes my mouth water! I tried gowing tomatoes this year, but the hot weather killed them or maybe it was me!

YUM! We didn't have a chance to plant this year, so we get our homegrown tomatoes at Anner's Organic grocery @ 18th & Boston - 3 blocks from our house. But, I DO have to drive to Owasso tomorrow, Bob, so if you have too many tomatoes, I could drop by!!  :=)

Personally, I like to eat them plain with salt. Sometimes I'll make a tomato sandwich with onions, mayonaisse. But there IS no wrong way to eat a homegrown tomato!!!

TLW - Now that's funny!  If Diane (the wife) wouldn't kill me, I'd ship a bunch to you!  And I've seen your videos.  I think you'd actually do it!

Hi, Bob. Your picture reminded me of the time that my father planted tomatoes and looked forward to his harvest. Unfortunately, the neighbor's Collie was watching them as well and he ate them all the night before my dad was planning to pick. He was SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!
