Outback Mindset Crucial To Short Sale Mindset

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

While today's episode is directed more toward agents, hopefully home owners out there can also take something from this. Maybe those home owners can get an idea where we are coming from when we are battling for you in the trenches.

There are some big Crush It classes coming up in the near future. We will be teaching one in the Tucson area soon. Also, on October 12th in Baltimore, Maryland and November 2nd and 3rd in the San Diego and Irvine, California areas. That Crush It class is guaranteed to be the most accurate and relevant content you will find in this industry.

When we start the class, we talk about a concept called the outback. When you go to the outback, there is nothing there. The outback mindset is kind of like that. There is no competition in the outback. As long as two parties can agree on it, it can be done. The outback is a place of solutions.

The outback equals solutions at all costs. When a bank president hangs up on you, you still work to find solutions. We believe that only three percent of the world work in the outback. The other 97 percent work in the proverbial box. The world inside that box works. We aren't mad at it or disgusted by it. However, in the outback there are tools of real estate that don't exist in the proverbial box. The short sale, REO's, and contract for deed all reside in the outback. Most people think inside the box because that is what we were taught by real estate classes and other places.

Short sales are becoming a regular real estate transaction. However, they exist in the outback. All of the how-to questions are from the proverbial box. A short sale is about solutions. If the two parties agree, anything can happen.
