I've Gotta Give Props to These Newbies 'Cause They're Kicking up Dust in the Rain (30DC19)

I just browsed back through July and August to see who had joined AR and most importantly who appeared as if they had staying power.  There are so many more and I'll get to them, but these few just shot darts at my forehead as I scrolled through the list.

Emmary Nicholson

My main man Craig Daniels is blogging with a vengeance.  Craig is a natural at simplifying seemingly complicated processes.  His step by step approach has gained him a fast and furious following.  Great job Craig.  You da man.

Next up:  Emmary Nicholson.  Once the AR family gave Emmary Nicholson some topics to talk about, she became determined that she was in this blogging thing to win it.  She learned quickly that list go over really well and hence her 365 Things to Do in Southern NM was born.

Peggy BouchardThen there's Peggy Noel Bouchard (left). She's been consistent and we can get a feel for how she approachLisa Hickses task.  Her post are short and sweet but the messages don't escape us."  She says what she has to say and then she's done with it.

Lisa Hicks (right) is a Newbie too.  She's taken on the 30 Day Challenge (30DC) and she's tagged herself "Unstoppable Woman."  She's a woman on a mission.  The 30DC is not a walk in the park.  It's HARD  even for me and Lisa kind of tuckered out around Day 10 but Day 11 proved she was not to be defeated.

Barbara Chatterton

Barbara Chatterton of Middleton has taken on the challenge also.  She's kind of the voice of reason to me.  Her post are filled with the little hints and tips that buyers and sellers tend to leave off of their to do list come moving time.  If you ask me she's a practical kind of gal. Somebody's got to do it and that's probably what makes Barbara's service so valuable.  There's got to be somebody in the room to make sense of things.

Honorable mentions goes to Scott Hayes (right) and Christine Pappas (lower left) .  That darned Scott just puts me in mind ofScott Hayes a kid who was born grown.  I don't know how old he is, but he looks much younger than me and in which case I keep thinking "this kid is wise beyond his years."  Regardless of his age, his thoughtful and thought provoking posts are what counts around here.  He's turned out to be a feature post magnet.

Christine PappasChristine on the other hands comes of as being spunky (her picture reflects that too.  But I want to mention Christine as an Old Newbie because starting back in January 2010, she would post something here or there.  But beginning in August 2010 he came back, so to speak, and she's been whipping out post ever sense.  Seems Christine probably wished she had been as diligent the first time around, but hey, it's never to late to come play in the rain.

There are certainly others like Debbie GarnerSteve and Carol DavisJack Mosmann.  The one thing I'm hoping more than anything is that they are here for the long haul.  I hope that they see the value in being here.  Although it took me a while to realize that value, I just kept plugging away hoping someday it would pay off and holy cow, has it.

Tammy thanks and thanks for supporting the Newbies.  I think the encouragement serves them well and makes them feel very welcome.

Barbara I was glad to do it.  All of you jumped right in and started making your mark and that was worth recognizing.  "This is such an amazing community."  Yes it is and it just keeps on getting better when new members like yourself join into the fold.  Thanks again and I'll be watching you all the way to the top.

Charita - You are so extremely generous!  I had no idea these were "newbies" as I still feel like a "newbie" myself.   I love your energy, and have been exchanging comments with several of the folks that you listed above already.    They are all so great!

Robert, I am "virtually" everywhere.  That's the beauty of it all isn't it.

  • Blogging: who says anything about finding time.  I have to make time for it.
  • Newbies:  On the contrary, they found me.  I just thanked them for it.
  • Sell houses (and manage properties):  It's what I do.  Gotta eat.
  • Family:  Actually not so big.  If that were the case, things would probably be different.

Thanks Doreen.  It's very easy to get accustomed to only reading post from our subscription list.  Sometimes we've got to mix it up a bit to add more spice and variety.

Dagny thank you.  I'm still a newbie too.  I'll be 1 year old in December.  I'm sure that the newer Newibies are glad that you made contact with them and so am I.

Charita--Aren't you a sweetheart??!!  There is nothing like being complemented and showcased when you are new to give you encouragement and inspriation to continue.  I would say you can count yourself at least partly responsible for their success on the Rain!!

The more the merrier! There is always room for more newbies. Spread the word to all Realtor friends. Perhaps because of all the great AR information shared we will have the entire Realtor world informed and elevating our profession.  Great Post! Thank you!

Newest of the new, here, and want to say what a great community, with our super accolades by folks like Charita.  My husband and I bought and sold houses with great agents in Virginia, but after layoffs and my husband's pronouncement, "I don't want to die in DC," we moved him home to NY in Westchester County.  We're a vendor, Servpro of Scarsdale / Mount Vernon, but were able to save some closings for our realtor clients in a final walk through after a THREE MONTH wait for the lawyers' "billable hours" and got the mold out so the deals could move forward.  Plan to blog on how to save those far and few between closings with a little help from fire/water/mold pros soon.  Thanks for the inspirations, all!

~ Hillary

Hillary welcome to AR and thank you.  I'm not sure I've heard from a lot of vendors so it will be nice having you around.  I'm a bit on the run right now, but I'll check out your blog when I return.  There have been several post lately about mold concerns so any input you can provide on that would be much needed and appreciated.
