Mayor Fenty Might Win Re-election After All!

Washington's young Mayor is in a neck and neck race with one of his elders, and the old guy looks like he's going to clean the young Mayor's clock on Election Day.

But Young Mayor just got a huge boost!

The Washington, DC Association of Realtors just endorsed the old guy.  I just saw this commercial that WDCAR is running while I was watching the latest episode of "Mad Men".

Why, you ask, is this good news for Young Mayor?

Well, every candidate that WDCAR has endorsed for mayor for as long as I can remember has lost.  It's like if Realtors® like him, he must be bad.

We'll see if the curse is still in effect.

I will certainly be watching on election day. Wow, that is coming up really soon - seems like only yesterday that Obama was elected. Where does the time fly to???

That is a great story, Pat! I never understood how Marion Barry kept getting re-elected. I wondered what percent of residents actually went out and voted for someone else. It seemed there weren't enough voters who believed they could get better representation, and deserved it.

Pat -- I sooo hope you're right!  I was shocked to see the GCAAR endorsement of, ehm, Old Guy.  It seems like that guy (one of Marion Barry's buddies?) wants to turn around just about everything that made DC a better place in the past 12 years.  I'm with your neighbor!  Go Fenty!

Pat, as a member of the DC REALTORS RPAC Trustees, I just want to set the record straight that your comment about all of our endorsees losing in elections is not true. Many of our candidates over the years have gone on to win and provide significant contributions to our community and supported the goals of the DC REALTORS.

Dale, you are absolutely right.  I have corrected the post to clarify that I meant for Mayor.
