Rafael Nadal Wins Another Tennis Grand Slam Match Tonight!

Rafael Nadal won his first U. S. Open title and completed a Grand Slam, beating Novak Djokovic by 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 today.   It was one of the most incredible matches I have watched.   Just into the second set, they faced another rain delay (the first coming in yesterday's match time), as another thunderstorm interrupted the play.

Rafa seemed to dig so deep for such incredible fitness and steadiness,  always seeming to be able to pull an unbelievable shot out of the bag when he needed it.  Djokovic dug extremely deep for some incredible shots, and saved a record number of break points!!

Tonight was Rafael Nadal's third consecutive major championship and his ninth overall.

I am so thrilled to have been able to watch this match!   I had a meeting scheduled for the match time, they forgot, - which meant I could just sit and watch it.

Dagny, wasn't one of them in a long match this weekend and got a reprieve with the rain that enabled them to even have enough to participate? Regardless winning all the majors in any sport where the ball has no dimples is an accomplishment.

Too bad you missed two hard fought football games watching ping pong..oops I mean tennis :).  Actually, a huge tennis fan in the past but have dropped off lately.  Been hard to get behind our current American players.  They lack the charisma of Agassi, Sampras, etc.

Ed - You are so funny!    Yes, no dimples, and lots of majors - I am impressed....

Mike - You obviously love the football, and there were some big games on last night....

Stefan - I agree, but do like Rafa anyway.   I do miss the Agassi days, though.  Thanks for checking back again!
