We all know times have changed and as a Realtor who for years has gotten up, gotten out and done my best, at times I am starting to feel my armor a bit dented. For years agents have come to work with me for my non-stop focus and energy on the end result, my team has been referred to as "real estate boot camp", and maybe its been true. The truth is I enjoy people who always try their best and that is what my team needs to be about.
When we start to work with other professionals we got to select the title companies, lawyers, and mortgage brokers who were extensions of our teams. They too always do their best and the team effort simply grows into a level of service that everyone can be proud of.
Then we start to deal with short sales, banks who never return calls, systems where emails sit unanswered and all of a sudden we no longer can decide to be around the best. Our performance on certain deals is out of our control. Our reputations, everything we do can become effected by a new member of the team that you have no control over. Properties don't close because title work wasn't done correctly on the foreclosure, short sale departments disappear after they tell you its approved and Equ.... well I won't go further on this. So everyday I must remind myself this is not the partner I selected to be in business with and because they don't do their best they will either change or be gone. Doing your best still matters.
I was out with two buyers whose company I sincerely enjoy. I have showed them way too many homes, their offers have not been happening, but this will change and I will one day get to welcome them to their new home. Yesterday they went out of their way to call me and tell me. how pleased they are that I am their Realtor and they were glad they hired me. That gesture of gratitude made my day, ok maybe my week, so today all I need to make my week a total party to see someone else try their best and someone else to take a moment and say thank you. If you have read this, let me know that today you are trying your best and you will say thank you to someone who have done theirs.
Regards from paradise,
