Fort at No.4Vermont Step Back into History to the Revolutionary War -Fort at No4 Event, come join us at Fort at No.4 in Charlestown, New Hampshire this Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19 of September 2010. King George the 3rd is mighty upset with us, seeing that we won't put up with Great Britain's Taxes with out Representation any more, so we got a little group together and had our selves a little ole Tea Party in Boston. So now King George the 3rd has sent his Red Coats here make us behave. Well our Army and Militia are making ready to meet them. Not to worry folks, we'll send those Red Coats back to King George with their tales between their legs.

This coming weekend will be sure to give you a tast of whats going to come your way in the Fort at No.4, 2011 season. We have a fun filled weekend planned, so you will have a real enjoyable time as you step back into History.

There will be 18th Century demonstrations: baking in the beehive oven thats located in the Fort's parade ground, flint and steel fire starting as will as cooking in the Sartwell House. Weaving and Fiber work in the Willard House, you'll be able to watch the Blacksmith work in the Fort's Blacksmith Shop which is outside Fort at No.4's palisade. You'll be able to see what our carpenter is doing in the Parker-Sartwell House.

You'll be able to enjoy 18th Century games at the Spafford/Peggy's House, on Saturday only you'll be able to make Corn Husk Dolls in Dr. Hasting's House, which will start at 10:00 A.M. with a new session starting each hour, the last session will be at 3:00 P.M.

Stop in at the Parker-Putnam Lean-To (Native Center) to see the changes that have been made.

You won't want to miss going through the Parker House.

Vermont Step Back into History to the Revolutionary War -Fort at No4 Event, you'll sure want to stop in at Captain Phineas Stevens House, which I'll be the interpreter of Captain Stevens. This is the Home that forms the Southeast corner of the Fort. Captain Stevens was in command of the Township's Militia during the Three Day Siege that took place in April of 1747. This building was the first to be reconstructed in 1960 which was made possible by the New Hampshire Frderation of Women's Clubs.

Outside Fort at No.4's Palisade, is a late 18th Century Corn Barn, the Blackamith Shop, Saw Pit, Cow Barn. This is also where you'll be able to walk through Sutlers Row, where you'll be able to shop for period wares and visit with Sutlers and Blanket Traders.
