Journey of Country Living in Minnesota....

Because I live in the country
and it seems like I always have something to say about it
(both good and bad)
I thought that I would start a thread of my posts regarding my journey.

We have five acres just outside of Elk River and know the hardships and benefits of living in Sherburne County's very sandy soil. Gardening is a great joy
though difficulties arise often
(from deer to fox and probably a few we have yet to see).

If you'd like to follow my journey... I'd love to have you along the way.
Maybe, just maybe, you'll enjoy my journey so much that you will want to find a piece of country for your family.
And I'd be happy to help you find it!

Hi Lindsey, Sherburne County is a fantastic place to live! Nice sunflower, how did you keep the deer from eating yours?

Yes, it is Elizabeth. :) I am not sure on the sunflowers. The deer took a few, but they liked my beets better. And, they've done a number on my apple trees. Most of my sunflowers are in my big garden with a wire fence around it. Doesn't keep them out, but keeps them at bay. The others I have planted right next to our front door and they don't seem to like coming that close to out front door. :)
