Everyone should be doing this.  Values have gone down in most areas.  I am not sure about your state, but it seems as though the powers that be can't handle the money they do get, better give them less to waste.

Timo:

I too believe that the Houselogic article by Barbara Eisner Bayer is well written.  However readers should be aware that property assessment appeal procedures vary from state to state within the Untied States, and even from community to community within a state.  Property owners should contact their local assessor about the appeal procedures in their community and follow important deadlines.  Most assessors welcome help from real professional like you in getting the word about appeal deadlines.

Timo:

Yes I'm trying to get the word out about how real estate professionals can work with local assessors so that potential buyers and owners of real estate can benefit.  I have worked in the property tax administration field for over 30 years.  That is the primary reason I joined ActiveRain and post to my blog.  Few real estate appraisers are members of ActiveRain and I don't know of another real estate assessor who is a member.
