Speechless Sundays - Good Luck Trying To Resell This Puppy

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Real Estate Connections

There is an old subdivision of vacation cottages on the Potomac River about 30 miles south of Washington, DC. It has a boat ramp accessible only to homeowners in the subdivision.

People have been buying the old homes, tearing them down and building new homes between 2,500 and 3,000 square feet.

Someone bought several of the older homes and built this home - it is almost 10,000 square feet or 3 to 4 times larger than the other new homes in the subdivision.

It isn't even on or near the river for water view or waterfront potential. Go figure!. See my post on Location

Very large house

Hi Karen, Bigger is better, NOT. I loved the comment that it looked more like a school or a hospital. Maybe it will end up beiing used for that, :-). They could try removing driveway and making a mote all the way around it for a waterview, just a thought, hehehe

Karen-Looks like it could be a nice City Hall or maybe fire station. A potential marketing challenge, but I think you'd be up to the task.

Karen - It looks very institutional and practical. Maybe some Amish will buy it :-)

Holy Mackerel...the "Bigger must be Better" approach to real estate...on steroids. And on top of that, Lori is right, it looks like a bank!

It is a huge home . .. . wow - 10,000 square feet. Overbuilding in an area is not generally a good idea.
