Pumpkins!

Grace Episcopal Church's Annual Pumpkin Patch in Alvin Texas is in full swing! As you curb park your car along Hood or Hardie Street you just can't take your eyes off all the pumpkins in the Church's yard.

Here is a fuzzy picture of what is left of what was there! (Will I ever learn to take a decent picture!)

For those of you in the area here are the hours so that you too may bring your littlest ones and maybe start a tradition!

What facinates me is the stems! They can be different thicknesses and curled or not.

Here is another picture of strangely shaped stems.

I had to buy one of these Rumgo squash as they have such a unique color.

I also had to buy one of these below....I don't remember what this squash is called but they were almost a light green! My favorite color!

I also got one of these Apple Gourds.... I am going back for a few more as they can be painted red like apples once they are dried. They also make great song bird houses.

I declare that the pumpkin on the right resembles a Black Diamond Watermelon! These were some big ones but I did not shop early enough to take pictures of the really big ones!

Take a look at these white babies...anyone know what kind of pumpkin this is? Lumina is right!

I really like the flat squahy ones...

One last look at the pumpkin patch before moving on!

I hope you all enjoyed the pumpkin patch...tomorrow I on the hunt for more pumpkins!

I love pumpkins too.  They are all so unique and I wondered if anyone else liked the stems. :)

Georgina: Yeah there are a lot of those! I was told that once they dried out they could be painted like apples or what ever you want....what I plan on doing is going back and buying a few more and painting them like apples and putting a little hole in them to make them a song-bird house. The hole has to be little to keep these other type of bird from putting it's eggs in there for the song bird to raise thus starving out it's own little ones.
