Friday Fall Tour....Five tree Views....

By
Real Estate Agent

Jet me introduce you to our Trees on display;  we enjoy 4 Red Maple Trees
 on our property;
They are about 20 years Young;    They are still quite small in comparison to others in the area of the same age;

This tree  number 1 is the smallest as we almost lost it in our first year here--13 years ago;  it is flanked by 2 Pine trees that were much smaller in size  then.  You cannot see the true color, but the neighbor trees are in full spectrum just for you.

Tree number 2 is the size of the remaining 2 on our property;  You can see two additional trees down the street showing off their Fall wardrobes; [you can also see the neighbor's New Trans Am--orange and loud--only Dad drives it.

This is tree number 3; it is seen against two more brilliant examples of Michigan Fall Color-Trees.
This tree has a story to share--about 6 years ago, it was hit-side-swiped by a neighbor.  She had just come from her home one street East of us. It turns out that her husband had just announced he was divorcing her and leaving with his new love on the morrow; The poor thing wanted to give us her lawyer's name & number.---HOW could anyone do anything like that [lawsuit] to someone in her situation.
We had someone out to look at it who said that it probably would not survive that winter.
OK, look at it now--not only did it survive, but it is the fullest and prettiest of the 4 trees on our lot.   Never heard what happened to this woman except that she lost the house and he took all the funds from their account.
As this tree-that should not have lived--grew, we hope she will drive by & realize that:
 this one "is for HER"  Our prayer is that she, like this tree, survived & grew these last years.

Because of
it's history, I made some closeups for you to see:

Can you See the Red in the Leaves; the Life that can go strong through to December.

 These Trees [we do have 4, but the last tree is out front & our neighbor is there cutting wood blocks for his heating for this winter--actually, he uses wood all year when needed-, and I didn't want him to think I was taking photos of him.

Now that you have seen our short,but very personal Tour of Fall Color--here in our part of Macomb Co. MI. --you need to know that we do appreciate these great trees that are very slow growing, sturdy, and colorful.
However, the leaves are huge--hand sized and larger 5" -6" across,
These leaves never seem to want to fall along with all the others in the area. So therefore, in November & December [you read that correctly--December] when everyone had identified their own leaves & taken care of them, WE still have leaves on the limbs

That my friends, is why we start praying each time we hear the winds of Fall blowing around.  We wish the leaves to fall and, if possible, to blow into all the yards East of us. LOL

Ah Fall Leaves--the color---the clean-up---the Fun.

Interesting post Barb and Sal.  I wouldn't have thought of an introduction to my trees - although that would be fun to write!

Steve...what a fantastic thing to say.. How very true.  Tree #3 is 'living proof' of that.  Hopefully, the woman has weathered her storm with the same success.  We think of her often.
{I still wish for the winds to start blowing, though LOL}

Barb & Sal, a week ago my father in-law got back from Wisconsin (about 4 hours north of Chicago) and said all the colors have changed already...you're luck to still have some color...fall is my favorite time of the year...at least up north it is.

I loved your tree story...just goes to show a little adversity makes one stronger!  Great pictures...we have pin oaks in our yard, they're very large but they don't shed their leaves til spring!!!

Grace...I like the Fall season FOR all the colors and because it points to my very favorite time of year--The Christmas Holy Day and all that contains.  The only part of December in MI would be the cold, & icy snow that comes along with it.  The Trees look a tad dreary today as it is raining & no sun peaking through--but there is always tomorrow.  Thanks for your comment & have a good weekend.

Jason...yes, Michigan is note for it's Fall Color season; we did not take a drive further up North toward Romeo area this year so do not know if the colors are still there or not.  Due to the Infestation of a few years ago, most of the big trees are gone; the new little ones are some of the most vibrant in color. [kinda' like we old folks, we all tend to Fade into Beige. LOL sorry, couldn't resist]  Thanks for your comment.
Have a good weekend & don't get too wet out there.

Nick...didn't know that Wisconsin has already gone through the "change", [that just sounds wrong in some ways] I suspect since that is so, then our Northern areas have finished too.   Fall is beautiful in so many ways.  when I did cheer leading [=adult sponsor--not cheer-person], it was fun to go to the games in the crisp Fall weather.  Sadly, we lost too many times to make the return trip to school any fun.LOL
thanks for your comment.  Have a good weekend.

Sherilyn...we share your sentiments and beliefs; do not know what roads she has taken since that late summer day; just hope that Sal's refusal to take the lawyer's phone number,r gave her a little respite from her situation and that she & the children [now college age] have risen above any sadness & anger. Thanks for your comment & have a good weekend.

Kathy...love Judy Garland and the way her voice sang in color;  Glad that you found the reference [even though now, you realize, I will be mentally humming the song all day.  Let there be no misunderstanding--we WANT the winds to blow the leaves away,Far AWAY. Our cares are  our own troubles to carry & lighten LOL.
Thanks for your comment & both of you have a good weekend.  By the way, up there in your part of the World are you experiencing colder weather than we?  Right now we are 61* & rain.  No winds yet; hard to make wish choices when dealing with Mother Nature. LOL

Laura..."don't shed their leaves til spring.."  is NJ. that much warmer due to the proximity to the Ocean breezes,or are those pin trees closer to our Evergreens, rather than our deciduous trees?  Never would have considered that since areas of NY can get totally bogged down in layers, & layers of snow.  We hope that the woman & her now grown kids [girls, we think] are not only surviving, but thriving.  The tree-that-wouldn't-die is certainly could be sending her a message from our Creator.  Thanks for your comment & have a good weekend.

Kathy....Yikes...we are to perhaps have "snow sprinkles" as Chuck Gaidica local 4 News stated.  It is that time of year isn't it.  So must bite the bullet--actually kinda' like snow at Thanksgiving & Christmas [my favorite time of year]--both Religious & decor.  we don't do presents since no kids her, in fact no one who remotely fits "Kids".
Have a good weekend.
