Some Scenes From Japan

By
Home Stager with Staged 2 Sell New York & Long Island

Before I leave this great city, I thought that I would share a few sights with you.....I'll be back in the States tomorrow and look forward to finding some time to catch up with you all!

Japan - Old and New...you find Temples in the midst of the bustling city

Japanese Style...clean lines, yet elegant.  This is actually the lobby of the apartment building where we are staying.

Shopping in Akasuka....the equivalent of our 'Flea Market'

Now, here's a familiar sign!  Yes, they are located all over Japan!

AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, This one's for you, Carole!  The infamous "Lucky Cat" with left paw raised which symbolizes 'waving in success'!

Val, Thank you for the cat, I think mine fell asleep on the job :)  I would have loved seeing the temples, the culture, the traditions, everything and can't wait to hear all about it!  Have a safe and wonderful journey home (these amazing trips are far too short, aren't they?).

What an awesome trip Val.  I'm glad you got to go and thanks for sharing your pictures.  My dad was in the Navy and brought back lots of pictures of Japan.  It was his favorite country to visit.  So, where are you going next?

Carole...Japan is definitely a country that you would appreciate!  The Lucky Cat in the photo above was the largest I have ever seen, and I wanted to take him home in the worst way!  I wonder if the bigger the cat, the better the luck?

It's now Friday morning here and the winds are still a-whippin' out there...hope this doesn't mess up my flight!  I have loved being here, but I'm ready to return home and back to MY world!

Terry....I think that Tokyo is a wonderful place for us 'Westerners' to visit because the city is so like our own large cities at home.  You really don't feel any culture shock.  Even though I had heard so much about the Japanese 'work ethic', I was astounded at how late people work here; even school children were still on trains/subways at 8pm!

Thanks for sharing...it's fun to see a new country through the eyes of a stager.  Check out my blog with a few photos from our trip to Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, and Luxemburg!  It would be fun if we could all share some travel shots!

Val that went quick...that lobby is definitely how a staged room should look, love it.

Sounds like you had a marvelous time and I am sure you are very glad you made the time to go and also spend time with your daughter. Look forward to hearing from you when you return.

I LOVE Japanese designs. I also love their handbag ;) Did you get a chance to do some shopping? They have GREAT SHOPPING!!! How come Century 21 Japan's sign looks so much cuter than ours? The name of the cat actually means it waves in money, but it's the same meaning as success in western culture anyway ;) Glad to see that you are having fun, and enjoying your first typhoon experience. I used to love typhoon when I was a kid, because no school! hee hee hee.

XOXO,

Cindy

Val, we want more - like Calie said, how about a blog for us.  I'm pretty sure I won't ever be visiting Japan, but love what you have shared with us so far.  Betty
