Be Thankful for what you have or don't have

The holiday's always seem to trigger thoughts of what you're thankful for.  Whether it be your family, friends, what you've been able to accomplish or the simple fact that your still waking up on the green side of life, We ALL have something to be thankful for.

I was reminded in a big way yesterday, even with life's daily stresses, that we should always take time in our day to be thankful for what we have, or don't have.

I have two wonderful cousins, both just really starting there adult lives, one is 20 and just got engaged. The other only 19.  Just started college with a scholarship for fast pitch.  These two young woman finally starting off on there own have both been faced with some major obstacles.  My 19 year old cousin, just getting her college softball years started and being a starting pitcher as a freshman, has begun having problems with her shoulder and is facing Surgery, but that's not were it stops.  They also found that she has blood clots in both lungs.  My 20 year old cousin, a year or so ago, was diagnosed with bone cancer.  She had it removed and had gone back to life only to be informed yesterday that it's back and now in her lungs and lymph nodes.  So the fight begins again.

I wanted to share this with all of you because for me, it was a big reminder that we need to take everyday for what its worth.  The mind is a powerful thing and positive though can go along way.

I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season! and don't forget to ask yourself..What am I thankful for?

Thank you for sharing your story!  I hope that your family remains strong in their faith and will to fight their battles!  It is important for us to count our blessings, not just during the holiday season, but whenever we think that we are having a bad day and nothing is going right....there is always something worse out there looming!  Great reminder.  Take care!
