Don’t lose your home owners insurance

Did you know that insurance companies have the right to do drive-bys on homes they have insured? They do this to protect themselves from fraud. Basically, once a year they can have someone drive-by your home and take some pictures of it.

But, what if there is something in the picture that the insurance company didn't know about and wasn't written into the policy? Then your insurer may send you a letter telling you that your policy has been canceled.

One of the fastest ways to get your insurance canceled, that I've seen, is getting a trampoline. When you buy a trampoline it doesn't tell you in the advertisements, that if you don't have a fence around your yard just like a pool, the insurance company may cancel you.

If someone should be injured on your property from your trampoline, your insurance company may not cover you and you could lose everything in a lawsuit. So be careful, before you buy a trampoline and call your insurance agent to see if there is an extra charge for the additional coverage.

For more information on the liabilities of a trampoline and how much it would cost to insure yourself, in the event of an accident, feel free to call or e-mail me anytime, I would love to chat.

Is it the same if your backyard is fenced?  Here in AZ most backyards have block wall fencing all around.

David, my aunt and uncle got canceled and they even had a fence. I think the insurance companies prefer that you have one of those safety nets around the trampoline. But, still I think it is risky.
