If you are in Phoenix area on December 7th, and you are serious about photography consider coming to training on photography lighting offered by one of the best training company in photography KelbyTraining.  There are many blog posts on Active Rain that tell you that you should not use on camera flash for taking your listing photos.  Those post also tell you that its better to take pictures without flash but hen you do there are dark spots in your images.  How do you fix it, with off camera flash.  This seminar most likely will not teach of how to take better real estate pictures but it will show technics that can be applied to taking better interior photos.

And if you have a camera that actually has an adjustable flash, like the Canon 550D/T2i, you can do a lot with those interior photos.

Kelby is no doubt a big name in digital photography, that should be a good course.  From my experience, however, lighting interiors is a very specific skill.  There are many aspects that carry over from studio lighting but on the whole they are different animals.

Don't listen to people telling you not to use flash in your listing photos.  Instead, learn how to use flash the right way.  It is one of the most effective, albeit difficult, skills you can learn to significantly better your listing photos.

Russel,

Yes I fully agree that the best cameras are DSLR camera but I believe (never tried) to trigger remote flashes with a point and shot cameras.

Iran,

I agree this course will not teach you about real estate photography lighting but if you can combine this course with ebook The Essential Guide to: Lighting Interiors by Scott Hargis you should have great start of creating great shots.
