there must be tons of the stuff

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

I'm dreaming of a white December 4th...

oooh, crap.  I'm not dreaming. Overnight, the good lord decided to dump a few inches of the cold/white stuff on our burb.  I awoke to find ugly, masses of the heavy white stuff to shovel and break my back beautiful waves of white painting the trees and the neighbourhood.

I gotta admit... I'm not ready for this yet.  I know, I know... I live in Chicago, I should be used to this... there are areas of the country (U.S.) that have already seen several feet of snow.  I don't care.  This is my blog, so this is the one place where it's all about me.

I sent the wife out this morning to shovel the front walk, so that I wouldn't damage my loafers walking to the car...  nah... not even I managed that one... (nobody believed me, did they?)... she shoveled her own way out to her "pre-warmed" car, and headed out to Yoga.. (she's very 'bendy').

And now I have to go put on my jeans, and boots, head out there are move some of that crystallized water around... make a path for the tiny-little-doggie to wander out back and kill the grass for next year.

The stuff is pretty... and I would enjoy it, if we were in for only a couple of months... but this is Chicago, and we should be prepared for snow on the ground (which will turn grey in a matter of hours) all the way through April...  Yeeesh.

No snow or snow shovels down here in the Sandhills, Alan!  Just a nice chilly bite in the air.  PERFECT for today's Christmas Parade!  Watch out for that 'yellow' snow!  Have a great weekend!

Alan,

As much as I think I would enjoy snow, living with it until April would seem like forever.  You folks are certainly hearty souls in Chicago.   In Sacramento, we just have very long falls.  This is from yesterday.

Ya know, I did read somewhere that women should shovel the snow as you men have a higher rate of heart attacks..hmmm..thinking thats only because they never really have studied our female hearts. Just think of it as your aerobics for the day...er..winter.

Very Funny! I'm still in the "it's beautiful white stuff" mode. Of course, I'm in the nice warm house sitting by the fire with my cup of hot cocoa while hubby is out shoveling. Love Winter!

I don't envy you at all and I think it's been cold in Florida I better enjoy the weather.

I say, "The only good snow is dead snow."  Well, that doesn't make sense, I guess but you know what I mean.  Perhaps, "the only good snow is snow on mountains for skiing."  That's better.

I get the dog part - I have two and we always shovel a little walkway to their "preferred" area.

Alan, can you send me a few pics when it turns all gray, dirty and nasty so I remember why I moved here.  That pristine snow you described "painting the trees and the neighborhood" is a very faint memory.   The comment about the wife digging you out had me going, for a millisecond.

Alan, I would welcome some snow.....but after a couple of days of being stuck in the house I'm over it.  I can't imagine what it's like to live where you expect months of the stuff!

Bundle up and stay warm!

Well April is just around the corner. (and if you position your car just right so she has to shovel close to get to yoga.....I'm just saying)

Denise - even Gus-Gus knows not to eat the yellow snow.

Cathy - that was really cruel ;-/

Cindy - yeah... that's it... WOMEN should shovel the snow... unless they want their husbands to... oh.  I guess i'm shovelling.

Shelly - I wish I had a husband out there shovelling.

Pat - anyday above snow, is a good day.

Margaret - the snow gets tall than Gus, and then he likes to poop on the sideway...

Kevin - we may share the last name... but I'm not gonna send you those grey, gritty, dirty photos to make you feel better about living in a paradise.   pttthhhhppp!

Ann - that's why Denver is so nice... it fills up the ski trails, and then by a day or two later, (except on the trails).. it's all gone, and the sky is blue.

Kathleen - you're devious.

Barbara - I had the fireplace going for a couple of hours this morning... 'till the smoke alarm went off and I realized that I don't HAVE a fireplace... I guess we'll have to build the west wall of the living room.
