31 Days of December Challenge - Days 4, 5, 6 and 7!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Indianapolis Metro NE AB20100584

Like some of the other participants of the December Challenge, I am finding that business is getting in the way!  Just kidding  (sort of), but it does make for an interesting day if out showing  14-15 houses!  Which is exactly what happened on my

Day 4   Spent the entire day out in the snow showing homes to Jeff, one of the nicest guys I have ever met.  More fun than work.  He called last week and said he was coming to town this weekend to buy a home. He has a great sense of humor and knows what he wants.  No time wasted. We will be making an offer on one of the homes in the next few days.  His lender says she could do his loan with her eyes shut.  Don’tcha just love those?  This will close yet this year as my last sale, but money will be my starting point for 2011!Clock with Lady

Day 5  Learned a lesson in time management---one of my weakest skills.  I did not blog or respond to leads until evening.  Once I sat down to do that, I discovered that my internet was down!  Part of the Comcast fiasco and completely unexpected.  Had I not waited until last minute, this would not have caught me. (Part of the reason I am posting for four days here)  So this tough lesson has convinced me that once and for all, my main goal in 2011 will be improving time management skills.

Day 6  Like so many others, I am working on my desk and work area.  I want to start the year out clean and orgzanized.  Clearing old files, filing those in limbo, and arranging the actives where I can easily get to them.  Today was a very good start on that.  This will be ongoing.

Day 7  Wrote that offer with Jeff and the sellers accepted!  No countering.  Jeff made them an offer they could not refuse.  Wish it could always happen this way.  Closing in three weeks.  Amazing.  Even though this closes at the end of 2010, as I said above, this will be a great start to my New Year!!

Congrats on the offer written!  Time management seems to be one of the hardest lessons I haven't completely accomplished yet.  Yes, an organized desk and area around the desk is a great way to start the new year fresh!  Time to get focused.  Thanks for the motivation.

Pat, I like challenges and would have loved to join this one - I didn't, knowing that I am taking a little break in December and I will not be honest if I said I worked on my business during December.

As far as your Dec 7 is concerned, I liked it - and I'd like that to happen with me, too.

Good Luck for one more closing in 2010.

What a productive month you're having.  I would certainly wish a Jeff on every one of us at least once a year.  A three week closing sounds incredible to me.  Here it's often closer to three months.

Pat, Congraulations on getting Jeff U/C!   Time management IS very important in our business, as it is pretty easy to get distracted.      I work from home so the distractions of others in the office do not get in the way!    Good luck to you!

Peggy--You are quite welcome!  I am hoping reading it it writing will help keep me motivated!

Dale--As always, you are way too kind!  I love the months with 31 days---always makes me feel as if I have an extra day to get caught up!

Lynda--It is motivational to see that 'I' am not the only one with not enough hours in the day!

Praful--Even REALTORS need time off and I would think December might be a good choice!

Alexsandra--I will have to go read your post to help motivate me to finish MY organizing. :O)

Joan--I work from home for the same reason.

Craig--Would love a few more under my belt in December.  Only time will tell!!

Geri--Three months????  That is horrible.  Short sales are taking that long and longer, but most 'normal' sales are taking between 30-45 days.  This one in three weeks is simply amazing to me!  I feel very blessed that Jeff called me.  He really is nice, funny and does not waste time!
