Paul, Interesting photo.  What's the context of the fence?  It's pretty high off the ground and doesn't seem to attach to anything.

Great photo.  On Cape Code we have similar fences, but they go to the ground and help with the drifting of sand.

This picture is of a snow fence in Barrow Alaska. It protects the phone, data and telephone system domes from the average 50 mph winds that would bury the site in drifting snow if it wasn't for this fence...
