Got People Skills? Your Success Depends On Them.

By
Real Estate Agent with Sierra Vista Realty

easyThe uncertainty over the economy has many agents running scared. Why did you become a real estate professional? I became a real estate professional because I wanted to Help people find a home, and making friends.

If you have great people skills and you are passionate for the work that you do, you will be fine no matter what the housing market does. It's important that you enjoy working with people and you are genuinely interested in them and you are quick to understand their needs and wants.

Real Estate professionals can never stop learning. The hallmark of the real estate profession is people skills. They are essential to establish a good and sincere rapport with buyers and sellers. With so many different personalities, making the personal connection can be a daunting job. When you increase your skills in working with other people, you increase your ability to succeed in almost all aspects of work and life.

To achieve success you must be able to:

  • communicate effectively
  • build relationships
  • establish rapport
  • influence people
  • make friends
  • build trust
  • demonstrate people skills
  • keep your promises
  • think before you speak
  • express your thoughts and feelings clearly
  • quickly read and resolve emotionally charged situations

Conclusion

Your success can grow endlessly if you adopt the proper relationship mind-set and learn how to achieve more with people. Learning to connect fast with your clients, colleagues, and total strangers by taking full advantage of your body, your mind, your voice, and above all your imagination will give you a significant competitive edge. It will help you maximize the potential in every relationship.

Make it a Great Day!!

Brad, so very true. I used to have a loan officer across the hall from me who would bad mouth and yell before, during, and after every phone call. I never saw anyone in his office, I wonder why. People skills are so very important. I also think that they are needed to help set us apart from everyone else so we can stand just a little bit taller.

I can't see how anyone without good "people skills" could possibly last in this business- or why they would want to.

NOW -- "That was easy"......  I actually own one of those buttons personally, I keep it on my desk but really need it at home for my teenage daugther.  I love it and even as simple as the phrase that it projects when punched makes perfect sense with this great post. Good stuff. I am adding you to my growing list of friends to catch up on reading their posts. I think I would be very interested in what you are posting.  Thanks from another Arizonian
